For KKNY members with serious competitive pursuits, a strong commitment to Team KKNY is m andatory. Weekly "Team Training" sessions are scheduled to develop camaraderie and prepare team members for excellence at our bi-annual Goodwill Tournament to benefit local charity, and on the IKO Tournament Circuit, which includes the All American Open International Karate Championships, held annually in NYC. The IKO Kyokushinkaikan sanctions regional, national and international tournaments serving students in 125 countries on 6 continents aro und the world each year. High achieving Men and Women competitors, and Champions from these events are selected and offered opportunities to participate in special invitation-only events around the world, including the IKO Kyokushinkaikan World Open Karate Tournament for men, and the Women's World Open Karate Tournament, each held just once every four years in Tokyo, Japan.
